The AI experts and scientists have recently signed an open letter urging the United Nations to ban autonomous robots. The robotics industry leaders like Elon Musk and Google’s Mustafa Suleyman, the co-creator of DeepMind, they together warned the UN that they don’t have to act if it’s too late.

The world’s 116 industry leaders said that if the world allows the killer autonomous robots to be built it will later allow the armed conflicts to occur on a scale that would be unbeatable in front of the beings. The robotics experts are now waiting for the UN to completely ban the robotic weapons that act without the human operators.

The UN has now decided an establishment of a group of experts on harmful autonomous weapons and systems.
The letter signees have written on the letter that- “As companies building the technologies in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics that may be repurposed to develop autonomous robots, we feel especially responsible for raising this alarm”.

“Lethal autonomous weapons intimidate to become the third revolution in warfare. Once developed, they will permit armed conflict to be fought on a scale greater than usual, and at a timescale that would be faster than that in which humans can comprehend. These could sooner become the weapons of terror, weapons that despots and terrorists use against innocent populations, and weapons hacked to behave in undesirable ways.”

The also stated that these weapons could become hard to be controlled if once this Pandora’s box is opened. We don’t have much time to act upon.

The Elon Musk, who led this call is not at all any stranger who made a call to the world about the risks associated with the AI. Elon, during his latest call, stated that AI is far riskier than the North Korea- Country that has a much brutal dictator with as nuclear weapons as possible.
The CEO of SpaceX, Elon Musk also stated that- “I have exposure to the very cutting-edge AI, and I think people should be really concerned about it,”
